Eosinophils as gatekeepers of intestinal homeostasis

Dr. Laura Fisch completed her undergraduate studies in Biochemistry and Molecular Biosciences at the Universities of Tübingen and Heidelberg in Germany. She then joined the laboratory of Prof. Manfred Kopf at ETH Zurich for her PhD, where she investigated the role of alveolar macrophages during influenza infection and bacterial superinfections. Following completion of her PhD in 2025, she joined the laboratory of Prof. Yohei Yamauchi at ETH Zurich as a postdoctoral researcher. Her current research focuses on host and viral factors involved in influenza virus entry and replication, with the goal of identifying novel antiviral targets.
